If you’re anything like I was as a student journalist, you will probably have attended half a dozen conferences for student journalists giving you advice, tips and tricks for how to succeed and how to get a job in the media. Sometimes they are incredibly helpful and give you loads of new information, and sometimes they say the same old thing again and again – and it might not always be helpful.
Now it appears I’ll be on the other side of the table – talking to the students about what I’ve done in the past few years and how it’s helped me to get into journalism.
I’ll be speaking at the University of Canterbury for the Student Publishers’ Association’s conference in a few weeks. You can buy tickets here for a fiver.
I’ve been asked to speak about Wannabe Hacks and ‘how to get into journalism’. But I thought it would be better for you guys if I asked you what you wanted to hear.
So let me know with the poll below and in the comments – what would you like to know more about?
